Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
I was raised in a small town in Illinois until I was 12 years old and moved to Los Angeles. I have a midwestern heart that has been broadened by the diversity of living in Southern California throughout my teenage years and adulthood.
In my free time I enjoy participating in my local community garden, baking, reading, hiking, petting dogs (especially fluffy Golden Retrievers) and spending time with loved ones.
I desire to create a space where clients can feel seen, heard and known. I am passionate about meeting people where they are and supporting them to reach their goals by embracing their strengths. We can often feel stuck and discouraged by our circumstances but I believe each individual has the capacity to grow.
In sessions, you can expect a warm, empathetic, accepting environment. In this context, we can work together to grow in self-discovery, self-acceptance, and self-confidence. All the while, sprouting new pathways of connection within ourselves, with each other, and with nature. Together, let’s see what can grow
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Azusa Pacific University in 2013. Here I enjoyed participating in interfaith dialogues and exploring the underlying motivations for humans to seek spiritual connections and form group identities. In 2018, I completed my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, with an emphasis in Medical Family Therapy, at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology. I have worked in several school settings providing individual therapy to children, teens, and families for student’s in the special education and general education settings. I have also volunteered in with a Crisis Pregnancy Center providing support and parenting education, led process groups at a maternity home, and led recovery groups.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in Humanistic, Client-Centered Therapy, emphasizing the uniqueness of each individual and a holistic approach to healing. I also incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and mindfulness techniques, attachment therapy, EMDR, somatic exercises, inner child/reparenting exercises.
Recognizing the need for help takes awareness and courage, and I admire your willingness to explore therapy. People seek therapy for various reasons, such as:
- Perpetuating negative patterns
- Experiencing life transitions or trauma
- Engaging in unfulfilling behaviors
- Avoiding self-exploration out of fear or shame
- Noticing somatic symptoms
- Feeling empty despite doing what you “should”
- Struggling with a critical inner voice
- Reacting in relationships instead of responding
- Trying to force change through willpower, leading to burnout
- Feeling disillusioned with life
Do any of these resonate?
Welcome to the human experience. You are not alone. Healing is possible with the right support and nurturance. You are worth tending to and nurturing. No matter what you tell yourself or what others have told you or shown you, you are worth it. Because you are YOU. For no other reason. I would love to get to know YOU and hear about your motivation for seeking therapy.
